Fall Rush: Please Allow Additional Time for Your Order to Be ProcessedIn preparation for the Fall Semester, many departments are trying to complete major renovations that require extensive telephone and data service order activity. This increased service order volume may cause a delay in the normal expected turnaround times. In order to have your orders completed in a timely fashion, please allow an additional 7 business days for processing. Your patience during this time is greatly appreciated.

New Campus Television ServiceITCom has upgraded the campus television network, including residence halls, over the summer. This is NOT to be confused with the IPTV investigation trial. The campus hybrid fiber/coaxial television networks were upgraded to provide a combination of educational, entertainment, and locally produced content. The residence halls have a 91 channel lineup and the rest of campus has a 53 channel lineup. The cost for television service increased to $16.50 per device effective July 1, 2007. If you have any questions, or would like to speak to an account manager to receive this service, please contact your ITCom service representative (763-2000 or itcom.csr@umich.edu).
UM IPTV InvestigationAll U-M faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in this investigation.ITCom is investigating a new service—Internet Protocol Television (IPTV)—that allows University broadband users to receive live, quick-start Internet television. Software developed by Sugih Jamin, a U-M associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science and co-founder of Zattoo Inc. is being used. Information about the investigation, the Zattoo client and a short user survey are available online.
Voice-over-IP (VoIP) CallManager UpgradeAn upgrade of VoIP services on the CallManager is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 31, 2007. The upgrade will begin at 7:00 a.m. We do not anticipate an interruption of service for most users. However, during the upgrade, the ICD application used by Executive Education and the Registrar's Office will be unavailable. After the upgrade a new feature, Immediate Divert (iDivert), will be available. This feature enables a call to be diverted immediately to voice mail. Instructions for using this feature, as well as other VoIP features, are available on the web. Users who access the CallManager User Options on the web to configure their call forwarding or speed call features will need to call 734-763-2000 option 4 to get their new password on Monday, April 2. Messages are being sent to all VoIP users to both remind them of the upgrade and let them know when the upgrade has been completed. We expect this to be a smooth transition. Please report any problems that you may experience with your VoIP phone by calling ITCom Repair at 734-647-8888.
