Inbound Caller ID on U-M Ann Arbor Campus Administrative Telephone LinesInbound Caller ID is available on most administrative telephone lines on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor Campus. There is no additional charge for this feature. Please note, some units who receive their telephone service from a departmental system or who are located off-campus may not be able to take advantage of this feature at this time. Using Inbound Caller ID requires either Caller ID telephone or Caller ID display box.
Obtaining Caller ID EquipmentMany telephones purchased through ITCom have Caller ID displays. See ITCom Telephone Equipment. These telephones will be installed with Caller ID working.

Call LogCaller ID devices log incoming calls by date, time and whatever information may be available through the caller's local phone company. Call storage capacity varies from one manufacturer to another.
Call Waiting Caller IDIf you are talking on your phone, a call waiting tone will notify you of incoming calls. Your Call Waiting Caller ID compatible display phone or device will show information about who is calling. In order for this feature to function on your telephone it must be a built in component of your telephone. Product information should specify "supports call waiting". The displayed information will depend on the location from which the call was made.
Caller ID and Using Long Distance Authorization Codes (authcodes) or Calling Card NumbersIf you purchase a Caller ID telephone or Caller ID display box that retains the last number dialed, you must always delete any history of calls made using either an authorization code or a calling card number. The manufacturer's manual will provide instructions on how to delete the last number dialed.Faculty and Staff assigned an authorization code are responsible for maintaining the privacy and security of their individual authorization code.
