Network Access

    UM Wireless Network

      UM Wireless Network is a wireless local area network (WiFi) available to all who have a valid University of Michigan uniqname and umich password.     U-M Virtual Private Network (VPN)

      The U-M Virtual Private Network (VPN) is available to all University of Michigan students, faculty, and staff who have a valid U-M uniqname and umich password. It provides an encrypted VPN for all network-computing needs.

    Cable Modems

      Departments that want to fund faculty or staff members' Comcast High Speed Internet Service should work through the U-M Purchasing Department's Strategic Supplier Program to obtain service.

    Northwood DSL Network Service

      ITCom provides the Northwood Network Service, DSL, for residents of the Northwood Community Apartments (Northwood I, II, IV and V) and Single Undergraduate Housing (Northwood III).

    Dial-In

      Merit permanently turned off and discontinued its Merit Global Services (MSG) and Merit 800 for-fee dial-in services on Monday, July 2, at 8:00 a.m.
