How to Pay Your Telephone Bill

Your total monthly telephone charges will appear as a line item each month on your U-M Student Account Statement. You pay your telephone bill by paying the total amount due on your monthly statement. Information about your statement and how to make payments is available at Student Financial Operations.

Detail of Telephone Charges

An online detail of your monthly telephone call activity and charges is available at UMphone Student Services. Log in with your computing ID (uniqname) and UMICH Kerberos password.

This online information includes:

  • Long distance charges, where and when calls were made, and taxes on domestic calls.
  • Payments and adjustments as applicable.
  • Archived files of previous monthly statements.

Your Rights and Responsibilities

You are responsible for paying your telephone bill. If you have contacted ITCom Customer Service with concerns about your telephone service or charges, your inquiry will be investigated and adjustments to your bill will be made as appropriate. If, however, it is determined that a claim is intentionally misrepresented, you may be required to pay the administrative hourly costs incurred to research the problem.

Your long-distance calling privileges and use of your authcode can be restricted for any of the following reasons:

  • Non-payment of your U-M Student Account resulting in "hold credit" status.
  • Tampering with University-owned lines or equipment.
  • Refusal to allow University personnel access to University equipment installed in your residence.
  • Misrepresentation of your identity to obtain service.

When the matter is resolved, your service will be restored as quickly as possible. If applicable, installation and activation charges will be billed for restoring your service.
