For this setup you will need a converter box, which is supplied by Comcast. Their Ann Arbor phone number is 973-2266.
Connect a coaxial cable to the TV connector on the A/B switch and to the "CABLE IN" connector on your cable box.
Connect another coaxial cable to the "CABLE OUT" connector on the cable box and to your VCR's "CABLE IN" or "ANTENNA IN" connector.
Connect another coaxial cable to the "CABLE OUT" or "ANTENNA OUT" connector on the VCR and your TV's "CABLE IN" or "ANTENNA IN" connector. If your TV's input has two screws rather than a threaded connector like those on the A/B switch, you will need to use a balun adapter. These should be available at electronics, appliance, or larger grocery stores.
Connect another coaxial cable to the UMTV output on the wall-mounted face plate and to the A side of the A/B switch.
Repeat with the CATV output and the B side of the A/B switch.
Set both your TV and VCR to channel 3.
Make your channel selections using the cable box, not the TV or VCR. You can now watch UMTV when the A side of the switch is selected, and Michigan Cable Network when the B side is selected.
