UMTV—How do I hook up my TV?

  1. Connect a coax cable from the wall plate to the TV.

  2. Run the auto setup, auto program or auto scan on your TV. This feature is usually located in the Setup portion of the TV's menu system.

  3. Refer to your user manual for instructions on how to run the auto setup program for your TV's make and model.

If you're still having trouble receiving cable TV after following these instructions:

  • Students:

    • Double-check all of the coax connections to your television.
    • Contact your residence hall's front desk. They may be aware of outages or other current conditions in the building.
    • If you're still having a problem receiving programming, you'll need to call in a trouble ticket to ITCom. Call 647-8888.

  • Faculty and staff:
