Anyone with a wireless card could access a wireless network, and thus could access any data that is being sent over that network.In order to create an encrypted and secure wireless network connection, use the "UM on-campus wireless" profile with the Cisco VPN Client. Once authenticated you will have an encrypted wireless tunnel through which data can travel, and ensure that all wireless traffic is secure. To ensure that all Internet traffic is secure, it is recommended you always use encrypted protocols such as SSH, SFTP, SCP, and SSL. |
