MWireless uses WPA2-Enterprise to allow access to the network and to provide strong security, including data encryption. MWireless is the preferred method for WiFi connections.
Accessing MWireless requires that you know your U-M Windows Active Directory (UMROOT) password. This password may be different from your UMICH Kerberos password. If you don't know your U-M Windows Active Directory password and/or you are having trouble logging in, you should reset your passwords; make sure the U-M Windows Active Directory box is checked. Contact the ITS Service Center at 764-HELP for questions or further help with setting this password.
UM Wireless Network uses web-based authentication to allow access to the network. Other than your login, no network-level encryption is provided when using UM Wireless Network. Because UM Wireless Network connections are not encrypted it is recommended that you always use MWireless to connect to the WiFi network.
Internet Explorer 9 is not supported. If you use IE9, your device will connect, but it will be redirected back to the login page and not your home page.
